Rising taxation is swallowing up more of Coloradans' hard-earned incomes. Property taxes in Colorado have risen $4 billion since 1992. On top of that, the state has been able to borrow money and incur huge amounts of liabilities without a popular vote by calling it something other than debt. In addition, Coloradans have had to pay taxes on cars, cell phones, and pagers.

Fortunately, you have an alternative: join with NTU and Colorado Tax Reforms to help tame the beast and provide Coloradans with real tax relief by supporting three important ballot measures!

Amendment 60 would enact common-sense reforms such as ending property tax hikes that violated voter-approval laws and letting citizens petition local governments for ballot issues to lower their taxes. Amendment 61 would ban borrowing by the state and subject local borrowing to voter approval. Finally, Proposition 101 would lower income taxes by 0.1 percent per year for a decade during years of strong economic growth, streamline car taxation to a $10 registration charge while eliminating all other fees, and end once and for all onerous taxes on telecommunications services.

• Take a moment to visit the Colorado Tax Reforms, where you can learn more about why increasing property taxes, unchecked borrowing, and phone taxes are so harmful to Coloradans and how we hope to fix these problems by passing Amendments 60, 61, and Proposition 101.
• Fill out the volunteer form to help spread the word about Colorado Tax Reforms by displaying flyers, making phone calls, writing letters to newspapers, and other ways.
